Removal of guns.

So what if all guns were removed. All guns seized and taken away, from everyone. A law made so that possessing a gun was illegal, all guns had to be handed in and if not the police or a "special force" would take those guns and the gun owner would then be charged for having that gun. Yes criminals will try to keep them, but by police being able to go in a seize them it would dramatically reduce those gun numbers. If all guns were taken away yes criminals would still get then but they would have a harder time getting them so less criminals would have them and the penalty for having one would be much steeper. To me that's a positive. Also the people committing these mass murderes in schools etc would pretty much stop because they wouldn't be able to get the guns, they are not known criminals with other criminal friends they are "average joes" who would then really struggle to get their hands on a gun, and last but deff not least children would not be able to get their hands on a gun left around to find so the number of children's being killed by guns would almost be zero! Why don't people want this to happen? If there were no guns, why would you need a gun to protect yourself?
