What do you do if your husband/ SO doesn't want kids (ever) and you do?

I want kids later down the line after marriage but my SO doesn't. He says they're too much of a responsibility and he rather live his life to the fullest / not his cup of tea. I respect his opinion but it's obvious we have different life goals. Should I break it off while I'm ahead or do you think he'll come around to the idea later? I would hate to guilt trip someone into having kids and they end up a horrible parent. What would you do?
