How to deal with a parent always being drunk?

My dad is always drunk 99.9% of the time and me & he dont talk because of it... I have anxiety over it too :(

I grew up with an alcoholic father. Thank God most of the time he stayed in the bars, but when he was home it was pure hell. I'm praying for you because I know what I went thru and it breaks my heart to know that someone else is experiencing this. Best thing to do is distance yourself and stay gone as long as you can. That was the only relief I was able to find.

Ask your family to help stage an intervention.  If they refuse try writing your Dad a letter and tell him how much you want to be on good terms and have a relationship. Ask him to get help. If he refuses then get some counselling to help you work through your feelings.

My father has been an alcoholic most of my life and I'm 35. I talk to him once a week or less because of his drinking. You don't have to put up with your dad just because he's your dad. Sometimes you have to cut him off just so you have peace in your life. Don't condone his behavior or turn a blind eye to it. Let him know how his drinking has affected you and be honest. His feelings may be hurt but you need to get those feelings of disappointed and shame off your chest.
