I don't want a big baby!! I want a 6-7 pounds healthy baby !! Will I know the weight before she is born ?

There's no way to know exactly how much babies will weigh until they make their debut. Weights that docs tell you later in pregnancy are just estimates.

Maybe slow down buying stuff? They don't need much.

I gained 80lbs with my son. He was 7lb 2oz. I think it's just genetics. And women who have gestational diabetes tend to have bigger babies. Just eat healthy food. And if you're craving something not healthy then just eat that too. :)

I ate all day everyday..  I gained 70 pounds and my baby weighted 6 pounds 8 oz.

I don't think it matters how much you eat. What does matter is if you've developed gestational diabetes. You need to consistently eat in order to nourish your baby but to be honest, from what I've learned, even if you don't eat your baby will take the nutrients from your body which will hurt only you. Obviously, it can hurt the baby if you NEVER eat but I've been told by my doctor that if I don't eat and eat the right foods my body may suffer.

I think it's based more on genetics than what you eat. Gestational diabetes can cause large babies but on the other side I have personally known 2 anorexic/balemic women one who weighed 89 lbs at 9 months and the other weighed 90 lbs at 9 months. One never showed she was pregnant at all. The other was all baby. Both had 7 1/2 babies. I was shocked either one was able to have full term pregnancies. Your baby will be adorable and beautiful no matter what their weight!
