Crib or no?

Question

So my boyfriend has a son he raised without a crib. Only a Pack n play with the bassinet and napper. Now being tight on money, limited family and room I don't see a reason for a crib. Plus they have pack n play mattresses! What are your opinions?

See i view it differently... The pack n play, bassinet and napper are all secondary to me.... If i was tight on budget the only thing i would buy is the crib as thats the only place i want baby to sleep... In fact we are not on a tight budget and thats all we bought.    But when it comes down to it... The main thing is to have a place for baby to sleep.... Weather you co sleep or have a bassinet or whatever you want... As long as you have a place you are all good. Dont worry about it...  ;)

Exactly what I'm doing. Cribs are unnecessary to me, worse takes up a whole lot off space that we don't have. As long as he's comfortable and we are ok with it, it's a go ahead for me. You don't need to follow what anyone else is doing if the money and space is lacking improvise.

I think you should go with whatever you can afford and think you will use most. I lived with my dad for awhile after my daughter was born 10 years ago and she slept in a drawer lined with blankets until we got situated. :-) not ideal but it worked like a charm

I just had a mattress on the floor as a baby, next to my mom's bed. My favorite friend's son had a crib for a few months but they got too annoyed with it and he slept on a mattress on the floor in his room.

There's worse places a baby could sleep. Do I think it's ideal, no but I don't see anything wrong with it if that's all you can do.

Just make sure the mattress is firm and flat, no toys or blankets, and that the bassinet attachment uses breathable mesh not solid fabric.

I will get the pack n play vs. the crib ..Saves money ,& will fit perfectly in our room also I love how as the baby gets older you can remove the stuff .
