Back then, forms of birth control were either illegal, very expensive, or humiliating to gets hands on. So Lysol made these ads, the euphemism is that they're used as a douche after sex for birth control. No, they didn't work. And yes, they were very dangerous. But, I have to ask, how do yall feel about these ads ? The very first line on one, says the woman should question herself, if her marriage isn't going smoothly. Here are some pictures of the ads.
