Name Change After Marriage
Hi, everyone!
I'm curious - how do you all feel about changing your name after marriage? Most of the women I know changed their names. I'm getting married in six months, and while I always thought I'd change my name when I was a kid and imagining what my future would be, I feel differently now.
I have always been independent, and I have a great career, and I feel like giving up my name would be giving up part of who I am. My fiancé, however, does NOT agree. He's not usually such a traditional guy, but he's set on me taking his name. We've never had a disagreement like this that we just can't resolve, and it's really upsetting.
Any advice? If you did/did not take your husband's name (or do or do not plan to in the future) what is your reasoning?
