11 weeks & bleeding after intercourse

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and last night after we had sex there was blood. The sex was a little rougher than normal but nothing crazy. It scared me because it seemed like there was a ton of blood, but has since tapered off to light spotting only when I wipe. I called the on call dr at my OB office and she told me bleeding after sex can be normal and to just watch it until my app. next week. Has anyone had any experience with this?
