Flu shot - will they make me?

I'm not one to get flu shots bc every year I get one, I'm on my death bed for 1-2 weeks. If I get pregnant, will the doctor make me get a flu shot or is it still up to me?? Does it depend on the Doctor? What are your personal thoughts as well - what would you do??

You also can't get sock from the shot as it's dead, the mist is the live virus. What happens is a vaccination response. Not the flu.

Still up to you. I never get it because I never get the flu knock on wood. And I hear it normally causes illness. My doctor isn't pushing me to get it and I'm 11 weeks pregnant.

It's nightly recommended if you'll be in your third trimester during flu season. But either way, the choice is always yours and they can't MAKE you do anything

The flu shot given to pregnant women is different, you're given a inactivated flu shot. This means you CANNOT get sick from the shot. You may experience a mild fever and  soreness and tenderness in the location of the shot during the first 72hrs.

They can't make you get it. They can highly recommend it but they can't force you to. Also, the flu shot is only good for 3 different strains of the flu (although I think they came out with one that has 4). For me, it has no benefit & they just guess on the dominant strains anyways. So I don't get it. I had the H1N1 shot a few years ago but that's the only flu shot I've ever had & plan on getting. If you don't want it, stay strong & don't let them bully you into getting it!

I've never gotten a flu shot in my life, and I don't plan on it now either. I don't think the can make you do anything.

They can't make you do anything, I'm not getting mine....it makes me incredibly I'll. I've had the flu and the flu wasn't nearly as bad as my reaction to the stupid shot. Never again. If you don't have a reaction to the shot it won't hurt you or the baby but for me (no matter how hard the doctors push) it's more dangerous than good.

I didn't get the flu shot when I was pregnant because the virus had already mutated. So, realistically it wouldn't have protected me. It would have only made me feel like shit

I don't ever get it but I did during my first pregnancy and will this Friday for this pregnancy. I know my immunities are shot and it's best to protect the bambino.

I did this year, my Dr told me the injection is a muted (dead virus) supposedly you can't get sick off this year's updated shot and so far I havent 5 weeks later. Dr said the nasal spray vaccine is the live virus. My Dr said it was totally up to me but the muted version might be something to ask your dr about.
