Cystic fibrosis?!?

I just got a call from my doctor to say that it turns out that I'm a carrier for cystic fibrosis... I had no idea. My husband is going in tomorrow for blood work to see if he is a carrier.I just keep reading articles about it, very upsetting :(  Please pray for my baby and that my husband is not a carrier too... I would really appreciate it...

I hope the best for you and your family, but if it makes you feel any better, I do have Cystic fibrosis and have been living with it for 19 years. I'm now a proud mommy to be and have graduated high school and I can honestly say that my disease, though it maybe difficult, has definitely not stopped me from loving and living my life. 
There has absolutely been some scary and hard times throughout my journey, but here has been some truly amazing times also. 
Regardless of what time has in store for you, I hope you dive in with a positive attitude and get to enjoy many, long wonderful years with your family ❤️

Try not to stress. Even if your husband IS a carrier, the likelihood of your baby inheriting the disease is only 25%.

Cystic fibrosis is scary, but modern medicine has come a long way. New treatments are blowing quality of life and life expectancy out of the water. My dad has cf. He is celebrating his 50th birthday this weekend.

I just got the same phone call yesterday. The dr did say that only people of Caucasian decent are carriers. My partner is only 25% white so I am trying to be optimistic that he is not a carrier. She did say also that even if the parents are both carriers the chance of the child having cf is 25%. Stay strong! I'm in the same boat! Cf varies so much. My mom has a friend in her 50s with a mild case, so try not to think the worst :)

Will not also be a carrier. If so plenty of research and prayer that the baby will not have it. Any updates on your husbands blood work?
