Should I be worried?

So for the past about 6 months I've been getting really heavy painful periods. (Like after less than on hour I will bled through a super plus tampon) I told my doctor so she switched which pill I'm on to hopefully help that but in stead Of the period getting lighter I'm in my second period in 2 weeks and theory are still really heavy.. I don't know what to do or if this is normal...
