Gender is a social construct?

Okay so I hear this a lot that sex is biological but gender is a social construct? What exactly is gender based upon. Would love some insight and further explanation on gender being socially constructed and do you agree?

Gender as a social construct is derived from the belief that when we are born we have a biological gender but our brains are basically blank slates. However parents and society then project their ideas of what that child should and shouldn't like, do and act like based on their biological gender. Which is why these social norms continue because most girls are born and trained to act like the socially acceptable girl and same goes for boys. So, yes I agree that that gender specific behaviors are a social construct however I think the problem lies in thinking that specific behaviors are either masculine or feminine instead of just human.
