1st wedding anniversary with a newborn?

So, our first wedding anniversary is coming up! Our little girl won't even be a month old and I'm breastfeeding. This pregnancy was a surprise to us and it was very difficult on me and what we thought our first year of marriage was going to be like. Anyone been in a similar situation? Any suggestions on how we could celebrate our one year with our newborn and me breastfeeding? Any advice would be great - I've been crazy emotional since giving birth too and I cry a lot LOL so every time I think about our anniversary I cry.

Our one year anniversary just passed in June. Our son was almost 6 months old at the time. We couldn't get a babysitter or anything,  so my husband ended up spending the day taking care of our son (giving me a break), put him down early to go to sleep, and then we just cooked a nice dinner (my husband bought some steaks, made some baked potatoes, and made up a salad) and watched movies at home, cuddling together on the couch. We actually enjoyed that more than going out. It's all what you make of it. You can plan a nice, romantic evening at home even with having a baby. Have you considered pumping so your husband and you can take turns with the baby (and maybe sneak in a hot bubble bath when it's his turn?)

Similar situation here, 2 year anniversary coming up and we have a two month old. I have no clue how we're gonna celebrate either, since I exclusively breastfeed, and no one can keep her.

You could pump; that way someone else can watch the baby. Or you do something with the baby, either at home or outside. It depends on what you like, of course, and your comfort level with your baby. We started taking our daughter out quite soon, so when she was around that age, she had already been to several restaurants, coffee shops, the drive-in movie theater, the beach, the mall... You can definitely do something fun with the baby in tow. It just takes more preparation and everything takes longer. Plus you probably wouldn't want to choose the fanciest restaurant. We like going to diners, family restaurants, and anything that has a little bit of noise so that it won't bother anyone if she cries.

I got pregnant on our wedding night...our anniversary was an overnight away with grandma watching the little one. Wasn't anything that we planned. Instead of celebrating us.. We slept through the night and late the next morning lol try and make the best of it and enjoy!

Our baby will only be 4 days old for our 1st anniversary. I hope to be out of the hospital seeing as this will be a scheduled csection. But we both agreed to just do a little gift exchange and of course im making a hand written card. We will probably make dinner together and watch a movie at home. Nothing too fancy or strenuous. Just relaxing and enjoying each others company :)
