Should I retest or just forget it ?

Me and my boyfriend have be together for a year on Nov 30 and 3 weeks ago we had sex with out a condom and me and him were waaaaaay to into it and he didn't pull out. Instead of freaking out I kinda got excited and couldn't wait to test to see if I was so I took a test yesterday morning and it came back negative. Sunday would be exactly 3 week from when we had sex. Did I take it too early? Should I retest or no?
