Anxiety Meds? Help!

Question

Yes, I realize no one is a doctor and what not. But I'm curious if anyone out there has been on Ativan prior to getting pregnant and taking it during the two week wait and everything turning out okay. I know Ativan is a big no no during pregnancy. So I'm sitting at 2 dpo and taking Ativan. Any advice!?! The dose is .5 so it's tiny but still I don't want to cause damage!

I stopped all of my anxiety and depression medications as soon as I got a positive because they were all harmful to baby. My pcp told me to keep taking my anxiety meds but they are more detrimental to my babies health than the depression meds I was taking. One thing that has helped me through my pregnancy so far and is safe during pregnancy is lemon balm herb. I make tea out of it and even smelling lemon scents is therapeutic. Meditation helps a lot with anxiety as well.

I'm still taking my clanaz, on a much lower dose. My doctor said to weigh the pros and cons. There's very little if any data regarding the harmful effects of a small dose. All the scientific studies seemed to be based on larger doses and or a mixture of medications. Talk to your doctor though and do your research. I would however warn against stopping cold turkey as you can have seizures and withdrawal.
