What does this mean?

Sometimes I notice that my boyfriends eye skin is a pinky colour around the eye like how I drew below. It's not every day that I notice this. What does this mean? It's not his actual eye ball. Just the skin around it. I don't want to mention it because he'll most likely not give me a knowledgeable answer anyway.
