Anyone know about females on here?

Question

So is the egg in the menstral blood?  I'm wondering because I heard my doctor say some thing about it and got curious. Anyone know of it comes out in pieces or whole?

The egg is so so small that it's not even visible by naked eyes.. It's micro millimeters tiny.. It disintegrates 12-24 hours after release if not fertilized..so much earlier than menstruation begins.. Hope this helps..

A little biased, but I absolutely HATE periods, they're fascinating as all get out though!

So we'll start from the beginning, you just got off your period, your pituitary send FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) to your ovaries to start to prep an ovum. Then at some point, for me it's 2-3 weeks after my period ends, you get another burst of LH (lutenizing hormone) that says "HEY ITS EGG DROP DAY SOON!! ALL HANDS ON DECK!!"

If you have uncontrolled or undiagnosed PCOS that doesn't happen, and for me it quit happening for 11 years (period started at 9, and trickled off at 12 then stopped at 13). And the eggs, die, and turn into little cysts, or big ones and over produce estrogen and progesterone. It's not a fun time.

ANYWAYS, so your ovary is prepped to drop an egg, there's a fluid "follicle" that your egg shoots through to your fallopian tube. From there it works its way down in hopes of becoming a diploid cell. Aka becoming fertilized and turning into the first ever complete cell of a new human.

If the fertilization is crummy, or the sperm and ovum never meet or if the fertilized egg never implants. It starts to die and dissolve. It was never large enough for you to see without a microscope.

So next what happens is your endometrial lining, detached from your uterine wall and starts to decompose into a more easily passed material. For some, that means large clots and painful cramps, for others it's just fluid.

Once that's over and done with, the cycle starts again and repeats ad infinitum till menopause hits.
