Why doesn't my ultrasound say how far along I am?

I got a dating ultrasound expecting to see the weeks and days I am from the measurements on it , it seems everyone else's has that ... Tech said she isn't the one who tells me anything that's the doctors job . I saw the heart beat but I'm just concerned why I don't even know how far along I am by now I'm probably 9 and a bit weeks by my calculations but this is all just very confusing to me I don't have my obgyn appointment till December 18 which would make me out of my first trimester ... I just don't understand why the lady wouldn't tell me
