Educating the clueless father so he understands what I'm going through physically and emotionally...HELP?!

Does anyone else feel unbelievably alone during their pregnancy? The other day my man was certain he would know the sex of our baby after our FIRST ultrasound... He has absolutely NO clue what is going on inside my body and I don't think he cares to figure it out. It is extremely annoying and also makes me feel so alone knowing that he has absolutely no idea how a baby develops. I don't want to be mean and tell him to pick up a book and educate himself, but what other option do I have?! It blows my mind that he literally has no clue what is going on. What should I do???

My husband doesn't have a clue, either. But I'm not really that concerned with it. I don't understand how all his parts work, so I don't expect him to know all mine 😂 As questions or things come up, I explain them to him. I don't take it personally that he doesn't go out of his way to learn about it. That's just not how he is. I think as long as your partner is involved in your pregnancy, that's what matters most.

Tell him. Talk to him about all the things going on during your pregnancy and with the baby and your body. My fiance looked up somethings on his own, but for the most part everything he knows about it is the things I've told him. Yes sometimes it can get frustrating that he doesn't know things I feel like should be almost like common knowledge, but I also think it helps keep communication open with us and see his reactions to various pieces of information.

We read the weekly bump updates together. He likes knowing what symptoms I'm going through. He was telling our friend yesterday "Our baby is 9 ounces and the average at 19 weeks is 8.5 ounces. We have a big baby coming." Haha! He's so attractive when he does stuff like that. 😍

Give it some time. My hubby seemed to not know much in the beginning but as time has gone on he is full of info. Now he discusses it with his coworkers and seems to have a different conversation about me being prego daily depending on who he is with during his shift.  There are books that they sell at the bookstore but my hubby wouldn't have read them if I had purchased them. My hubby goes to every appt and I have found that walking into my OB appt with a list of questions gets both of us the answers. Maybe create a list and take it with you to your next appt?? Even if you think you know the answer, asking your OB means your guy will learn something too. Good luck!!

Oh were on our 2nd baby together and he is still clueless lol. I've just come to the realization that this is how he is while I'm pregnant. Our daughter is 5 1/2 and he is great father and that's what matters most in the end :)

30 weeks here. Felt unbelievably alone and talked to him and talked to him. Didn't feel any less alone. He's a great man but let's be real I'm pregnant so no matter how reassuring he is even leaving his dishes out makes me feel terrible (pregnancy for me side swiped me in the sense I didn't think it would be this hard. Morning sickness, back pain, rashes etc) so I signed up for prenatal classes. Not that they helped me learn anything but it forces him to know there's a lot more going on within me then he thinks. It's helped a bit because now he gets its not just water a plant and bam it's here. There's preparation,  changes etc

I bought my fiancé a book for "dudes" he was really excited. It had curse words and guy language so it connected him in a different way than I could. Otherwise just ask him every week. Every Saturday I'll read what's changing developmentally about the baby. Don't force it if he's not into it but sharing can be a great way for you to both be happy
