Taking first child to ultrasound?

Question

We have a 3 year old little boy who we've told were expecting but hasn't quite accepted it yet. I was thinking of taking him to our 20 week/ gender scan with us thinking that may help? Has anyone had good/bad experiences with taking their other kids to scans? Stories?

I have taken my three year old to every doctors appointment! It has really helped him understand there's a baby in my belly and he loves listening to her heartbeat and especially seeing her on video as he calls it haha plus he is spoiled from all the nurses and doctors and loves the attention haha they always weight him and pretend to do his blood pressure too, he gets sticker sheets and a rubber ducky every visit. He loves going!

I took my 2 year old and she didn't really care either way so she just played in a chair beside me while thy scanned. My husband helped keep her quiet but it didn't cause any issues

My four year old has been amazing at both of my ultrasounds!! He loves seeing his little brother up on the screen, and sits next to me in a chair. At my 18week one, he held my hand and told me it was going to be okay!! Haha so sweet!!

I took mine to my 12 week ultrasound and he did great. (He was 2 and 8 months). From what I remember from the first pregnancy the 20 week scan takes like 45 minutes so be prepared for the little one to wait a little longer. But it's a great experience to be apart of and it might get them more excited about it. Have them watch the Daniel Tiger episodes where he gets a little sister, it helped my little guy understand it.

We took our nearly 3 year old with us and after a couple of minutes my OH had to leave with him. 
Before that the tech turned around and said how she doesn't understand how people bring their other children that it completely ruins it. It is meant to be about the child getting scanned not the other one. Extremely rude!! 
We wanted to do it as a family so he could understand. But in all fairness saying something like that would ruin it!
Bring some items to keep your child busy just incase interest is lost. 
I have brought him to checkups with me before and he has always been quite good. Daddy that day forgot his bag!

At my hospital we are only allowed one person in there with us and no children under the age of 10.. I wish my 3yr (almost 4yr old) daughter could of went with us :( she is very much into this pregnancy and is so excited! And loves to hear everything I have to tell her about her little sister

My daughters older (9) and she was into for a whole 10 min before getting on her phone I'm guessing a 3 yo might not last that long lol honestly they might be more into the pics then the actual ultrasound but it's up to you ☺

I took my 4 year old girl to my 34 week scan and she was in awe and barely  made a peep. The 20 week scan can take a while though

My son just played with daddy the whole time and didn't pay attention to the screen for long. He's 6

I took my 3 yr old little boy. He was only intrested in seeing the baby for like 2 mins then he lost intrest. Lol. But he did like looking at the pics after she printed them off.
