Is she weird or am I weird?? lol

So, whenever I hang out with my best friend who I have been friends with since high school, she always wants to bring her husband along. My husband and I are both very independent and like to do our own thing especially when it comes to our friends. Sometimes we will do double dates but usually he hangs out with his friends and I hang out with my friends whenever we do go out which is a rare occasion! This friend was single for most of the time that we were friends and my husband is a firefighter so most of the time that we havr been friends so it was always just the two of us. Ever since she has been with this guy who is now her husband, she assumes that he is always invited whenever we go out. I don't want to be rude and say that I want to just hang out just us girls but sometimes it would be nice just us so we can talk about girly things! Just seems like he is really clingy like he won't let her leave him at home... are my husband and I the ones that are unusual, going out separately most of the time (not like to weddings or family events but just out to dinner or shopping or whatever)? Or is it weird that she always expects that her husband is invited when she and I hang out?

PS I have a sense of humor and will NOT be offended if you tell me I'm weird! 😉😃

This is why I call it a girls night out. So that my friends strictly know it's for girls only and their or my husband or brother for that matter, should not be there lol.

Some people are like that. It's not weird to ask her if you can have s girls-only event. If she is offended by that or does not want to then she is weird. Some couples are just joined at the hip.

Maybe she just doesn't realize you don't want him there. Also, have a little compassion. You might have a healthier relationship than she does. Maybe part of her doesn't trust him. Don't make her feel even worse about it if that could be the case. She's not obligated to hang out with you alone and if he's not invited and you know she's going to be put in a hard position to leave him then maybe just find somebody else to go out with.  can tell you I want my husband with me and it is an out in the open trust "issue/nonissue" he is a recovering addict and his NONrecovering brothers live 5 mins away. You never know why people act a certain way.  Most of the time I'll ask if it's ok and I really do expect my friends to say NO if it's not ok. I would. I have cool friends :P

My husband and i's best friends are this way! They can't hang out unless the other one is busy. They are always together, that's just weird, I love my husband but we do our own things sometimes!
