New and Confused with Gestational Diabetes
I was diagnosed with GD this past Monday. Failed 2 of the 4 blood draw screenings for the 3 hour test. I saw an endocrinologist yesterday, who referred me to a nutritionist to discuss my diet. Unfortunately they can't get me in until Wednesday.
My concern is that the doctor said I do NOT have to check my blood sugar levels at home, only once a week at his office for the next few weeks. Has anyone else ever been given this direction? All the other posts and friends I know who had GD were given strict guidelines for testing on their own.
If you could share what your 1 hour post meal number is supposed to be, I would appreciate it. I am going to buy a monitor on my own today to start experimenting.
