Contractions at 30 weeks! Help!

So starting Wednesday night I started having bad back pain. So bad I couldn't sleep, but it just felt like a sore back. Then Thursday when I was exactly 30 weeks along it was getting worse and going into my side and would get worse every couple minutes. I finally decided to go into the doctors and they hooked me up to the contraction machine and yup! Contractions every like 3 minutes. I am not dilated and now the contraction are gone unless I do ANY sort or work even walking around the grocery store for 10 minutes then they start back up. Also found out baby has dropped and is head down ready to come. The doctor just told me to take it easy. I'm a ftm and was wondering if this means I'm gunna have him soon or what? Also any other advice would be great! Thanks in advance.
