Has Christmas gone too far?

So I went to the mall today to take my son to see Santa for the first time. It's Tuesday so I figure there wouldn't be a line, which was true. After Santa I went in to Target to pick up a donation gift and something I ordered for my son. As I was walking out of Target and back into the 3 story mall I realized it got busy quick! There was soo many people there all talking at the top of their lungs, pushing and shoving their way through everyone. I decided to go into Express really quick to grab a sweater that my husband said he liked then be on our way home. After fighting to get into the store I was looking through the rack for my husband's size some butthead pushed me out of the way and grabbed the last XXL and made his way towards the register. I went to confront him and I get called a stuck up bitch! One of the store associates saw what happened and went to the back to dig out the size and sweater I needed (my savior!). After purchasing I had to make my way to the elevator to get to the 2nd floor to get to my exit. A couple were walking together got pissed off that people were crowding a kiosk making it hard to walk by and instead of saying excuse me to get past me walking the opposite way just KICK the stroller containing my 15 month old son knocking it over! Telling me to "Fucking get out of the way!" and kept walking. I was able to pick up my crying son and the stroller (with no help from anyone) and get to the side to try and calm him down it all hit me and I had a full on panic attack. Seriously when did Christmas stop becoming about friends and family and the gift of kindness to the less unfortunate and start becoming all this ugly? Do you think the holiday season has become too much?
