How did you handle a difference in opinion regarding circumcision?

If you and your partner disagreed on the idea of potentially circumcising, how did you handle this disagreement and did you end up "compromising?"

What if one of you had religious reasons for their stance?

My husband and I mutually agree that e wouldn't do that to our sons..  So we really didn't have an argument over it...

This is interesting. I don't have this issue because my SO and I both stand to circumcise later. But commenting to follow other responses!

This would never come up since it isn't routinely carried out where I live. You might have been better asking at a different time of day

The first two times I allowed my boys to be circumcised without even considering not doing it.

This time I would have fought tooth and nail to keep it from being done.

Luckily my husband just isn't all that concerned one way or the other. Sure, left up to him he'd do it. But he wasn't so dead set on doing it that he'd argue over it. Thank goodness.

Personally, I feel if there is a difference in opinion, the child should be left intact. He can be the 'tie breaker' when he's older.

My husband and I agree to circumcise our son if we have one. But I think if we disagreed I would go with what he said. He has a dick, not me. I don't know what it's like. And I would hope he would do the same if a decision like that had to be made for a girl and we disagreed.

This is a hard one for me. I am totally against genital cutting but he is all for it since he is circumcised. So I have no idea what we would do.
