2-3 year olds?

Question

So some people tell me 2 year old attitudes are far worse than when they're 3, but others say the opposite. I'm sure it depends on the child but wanted to hear from others. My child is 2 now is not very nice lol. Biting, hitting, scratching, screaming.... 
Also, cannot bring him anywhere that involves going out to eat or getting groceries. Does anyone else deal with this too? I see other parents with 2-3 year olds that bring their children everywhere so I feel bad mine has to stay home.

Have you tried positive reinforcement and follow through? Kids are too smart for empty warnings. If you say "If you don't stop you're going in time out" and then proceed to say that 10 more times and never actually do it, then he knows it's an empty threat. Follow through should always be immediate. Also, when he's behaving well he should get a very small reward. Maybe have a jar and each time he's good he gets a marble. Once the little jar is full, he gets a test. But when he's bad he losses marbles. Even at 2yrs old, children are a lot smarter than we give credit for. Strong discipline and follow through are the only thing that will change your child's behavior.

I always hated age 3. 2 is about learning the rules. As long as you are clear in what they are, my kids were always good about following them. Age 3 is for knowing the rules and trying to break them anyway. My little guy is approaching 3 quickly and already starting his terrible 3's (age 3 in Feb). My big guy is 4. 4 is the best ever. I'm not looking for a newborn and my little one in his terrible 3's. I'm sure this is different for each kid, but this is how it was for me.

My son is 2 and he's pretty nice. He's on a pretty strict time schedule with nap and bedtime and eating. So as long as I stick to it we are good. Only problem I have is he rolls his eyes at his dad whenever he's in trouble. Haha But i heard if they are an angel at age 2 then terrible 3s happen.

My daughter will be 3 this month. She is our second child we have a 7 year old boy. So far out of the two of them she is by far the worst with her attitude. The problem is she's very very very smart for a 2 year old. Her vocabulary as a 1 year old was that of a 2 1/2-3 year old. She has excelled mentally in every way. I think a lot of her attitude is that she knows how to work people. Some children who don't know what words to use to communicate to you act out. Then on the other side there's children who are advanced that also act out from boredom. I would have to say 2-3 is the worst for behavior. You have to realize this won't last forever. It can be embarrassing and hard to make your life work not being able to have a nice meal at a restaurant or even go get a gallon of milk without dealing with an unruly child but some children no matter what approach you take will be the way they are. You will even see other people interact with your kid and they'll be perfectly behaved making you feel inadequate it's because it's not you the person they see everyday who is always correcting them. Toddler age stinks! No matter how you cut it

I honestly found 3&4 way worse than 2. They weren't even that bad really, but they had that whole twin speak thing going on so they were extremely difficult for me to understand and downright impossible for anyone else even once they started talking fully. They could communicate with each other just fine though and good lord but they ran me in circles because of it. If they weren't sleeping, they were plotting havoc and mayhem!

My first 2  toddlers where great nice and kind my 3rd she's more dominant then the other 2 and she's way out of control yelling at mommy and daddy at the top of her lungs and telling family members no huggy yuck.. give her a time out she gets even worse with her fits. It all depends on the kids I raised them all 3 the same her personality is just more stubborn

People always spoke to me about the terrible twos. It started when he turned one and has yet to end and he's four😕. I completly understand what you are going through. My son has gotten better with simple things like going to the groceries and such. But taking him to a restaurant is still a work in progress lol. Pretty much anything that requires him to sit still and be quite for more than 10 minutes its a struggle. He immediately starts to get restless and starts acting up. I dont really have much advice, as Im still dealing with things myself.

I have dealt with young children for years, my mom ran a daycare just about my whole life, which I started helping with and eventually started running with her. We still do it today. It never fails, 3s are worse than 2s. They say terrible twos, but it is I wanna rip my hair out threes. My soon to be step daughter is 2 and a half, and I tell her father all the time, just wait lol
