A lil surprised

So one night my boyfriend and I were just relaxing at the house. While I was laying on my stomach on my phone; he starts to rub my. Basically give me a massage he started rubbing my back and back, then mentioned baby oil or massaging oil.  We had lube at the time around so I just told him to rub my but with lube. Well he started to and things escalated and as we was having sex he says, "Can I record us doing it?" I said yes, which I can't remember. He did for a couple of seconds and I realized it and told him to put it down. Should I have let him to do new things? It would've been recorded on my phone so I knew it wouldn't get out.
