Mom issues
Okay so I've been dating my boyfriend for the past 2.5 years. He's absolutely amazing and I love him to death. My parents also really like him which is excellent.
The trouble I'm having is everytime my bf and I have little arguments that every couple has my mom starts on me about how I can't lose him and he's the best guy I'll ever have. She always tells me to be on my best behaviour and be the perfect girlfriend so I don't upset him or annoy him.
I find this pretty insulting because my mom should be telling me I deserve the best and that I could have any guy I want. She makes me feel like if I'm myself around him he's not going to want to be with me.
What should I do? I've told her it bothers me when she says that stuff like that but she just gets mad at me.
