Am I overreacting?

In 2012 my husband ran out and bought this truck that everyone told him not to buy because that particular year had so many problems. He bought it anyway. The truck cost $17,000 and in the 3 years we had it we dumped $12,000 in work into it. 
A couple months back I think October we gave up on it after being in the shop 3x in a row in two weeks. At the last  minute we finally said enough we didn't care about the loss we would take anymore. We traded it in for a new 40,000 truck. In a month after having it, he spent $2000on doing stuff to it ($450 train horn, $50 something idk, and $1500 lift kit). He still wanted tires and wheels I begged him just wait till summer when he is busiest at work. Not during winter please. 
Today on Christmas eve he is going to spend $2000 on tires. He says he will he the money back when he sells his but first he has to sell his. So we are gonna have $2000 tied up in tires. 
All his friends have all these things and they encourage him and of course I'm the B word who doesn't let him enjoy his toys.

No my husband would never do that! He always confronts me before a big purchase. He looks at every other aspect of our life to make sure we are good in all those places before we ever do anything like that..

I'd be pissed if my husband did that! The biggest thing my husband buys is video games, and even then, he tells me he's doing it and he rarely does it. We both consult each other before we buy anything. Your husband sounds very selfish and immature. He married you, not his friends, so he should be listening to you. After all, it's your money too.

My husband would be sleeping in the truck or at a friends house if he pulled some crap like that! We don't spend 100+ without telling each other & when we do spend money we let eachother know.

My husband decided to put down $11,645 (no exaggeration!) in Snap On tools 3 days ago. He must have forgot that I receive the invoices via mail after he purchases something.

Let's just say WWIII happened and he's still in the dog house.

Depends. Do you share money? Then it should be a mutual decision. If you don't, and he doesn't have a say in your money decisions, then you don't have a say in his.  I think it also depends on how much money (relatively speaking) this is to your family.

Your husband clearly doesn't understand the meaning of a marriage being a "partnership". My husband and I don't even spend $100 without discussing it first and getting each other's approval!! If I were you I would go spend $2,000 on myself just to prove a point to the jerk! He married YOU not his friends!
