Racism is not over!!!
It's not over I wish people would stop saying that it is. Systemic RACISM is alive and well and there are so many ways you can learn about it if you open up your mind and realize that black people aren't just pulling the race card everytime they point out injustices in our society. It hurts to have to constantly defend yourself everytime your race is called out and constantly hear/read "I'm sorry, but I'm not apologizing about things that happened during slavery that my ancestors may or may not have did". But I also know that it hurts whites who dont understand RACISM to hear that they have white privilege. I also know it hurts when whites have experienced racism personally or have been denied opportunities and to be told that RACISM against whites doesn't exist. I wish we could just all come together and listen to each other with open ears and hearts. Because we are all hurting, we are all angry, its hard to accept that sometimes we are wrong. So it leads us to start cursing and using ad hominem attacks to belittle the next person who only wants to state their opinion whether their opinion is based on fact or feeling. I find the best way to deal with people who are like that is just to listen and ask why they feel like they feel. And guide them to some credible resources that either state your pov or opinion. We don't have to be this way. We don't have to get mad at every race topic. So when you are reading a post on race or any post for that matter put yourself in that persons shoes and try to understand what they are coming from. Cc is for debates so use research to prove your point instead of foul language and trying to put the opposition down because doing that doesn't help your point it only makes you look bitter.
