Does the Depo Provera Shot make you gain weight?

I recently started getting the depo provera shots for birth control and noticed I'm gaining a bit of weight, can't tell if it's from the holidays or the shot! lol

It's actually sort of a myth that medications "make" you gain weight. They may certainly make you more hungry, but if you don't overeat you'll be okay. (Easier said than done, I know lol) but if you've noticed weight gain in a matter of a few days, it's probably water weight. Drink a bit more water. It'll help your body get rid of the water weight and it'll also help you not snack when you aren't truly hungry! 😊

I took the depo shot on and off for about a year and a half. At first I was gaining a couple pounds here and there but the last time I took the depo shot I gained 10 pounds.
