Why do people think term "rainbow baby" is stupid!

I have seen a lot of people say they think the term is stupid I am just wondering why?

I don't think it's stupid.

It does make me think of like fabulous gay glitter children, so I giggle when I see it, which i imagine is not the proper response 😖

It also isn't just used after miscarriages.  I lost my 3 month old son in 2013. I now have a daughter who will be 2 next month and am 9w2d with number 3. I have referred to my daughter as my rainbow baby and that is all its meant to symbolize is hope for things to get better and hope to have joy again. Also, in the bible the rainbow was used as a promise from God so some bereaved parents see the baby after loss as a promise that God doesn't forsake and is with us in the midst of unspeakable tragedy.

I don't think it's stupid. But I do think it places responsibility on a fetus/baby. And I, personally, wouldn't use it.

Who said it was stupid? I'm seriously asking because I haven't seen it on here. I did see someone say "angel baby" was stupid though. I think it's sweet.

Because after the storm comes a rainbow.  It's used for after a miscarriage, stillborn, or SIDS.

People clearly look too into shit. It's meant to be inspirational and hopeful. I had a mc and I consider my next pregnancy a rainbow baby (if I'm blessed with a second chance). By no means do I expect him/her to replace the baby I lost. If I get a positive test today I won't put pressure on the baby to "be better" or have a better outcome over a freaking word. I'm sorry but it's obnoxious (I'm not attacking you- just annoyed lol). If people don't like the term, leave it be. I feel the term and metaphor is beautiful, so I use it. I feel it's to each their own...

I don't care for it. It feels like placing pressure on things to be perfect. Kids have enough expectations placed on them without being expected from birth to replace a sibling.
