Removing braces

Okay, so question. When you had your braces taken off did they just rip them off one bracket at a time after taking the wires out? They did that with me. For the first year I had metal bars in my mouth that had springs on them and I had metal bands glued around my molars and even then they just ripped them out of my mouth and sawed the glue off my teeth. They never used a light to melt the glue. I said something on Facebook and this chick acted like I was stupid and I didn't know what I was talking about. Um, I very clearly remember being surprised that they just opened my mouth and pulled the brackets off.
