Still dealing with acne

I've had acne since I was 12 or so. It's never gotten better (I'm 21 now) because its hormonal and hard to treat. Its not cystic acne and it's not always horrible but I'm always so embarrassed during a bad breakout. especially because my boyfriend sometimes notices its bad and I'm very insecure about it. I'm sometimes embarrassed that he has to be seen with me. He's never made any bad comments but I feel so ugly lately. Don't know how to help myself at this point
