Pain meds and pregnancy?!.

Question

I was wondering if anybody else is on (prescribed !) pain medication while they're pregnant? Looking for orhers honest advice and/or thoughts on the situation?!.(not criticism please)

Thank you for the comments! I have been on perks for my back and other pains for over a year:-( I did tell my OB, I was told O should not stop it could hurt even kill the baby! From what I read it may cause low birth rate and he/she will have to be monitored in nic u for a few days but isn't known to cause any serious birth defects?!. I'd love to do the right thing and not take them but with all my problems and the bigger I get the worse the pain is I don't feel I could! I guess my thought is id rather have the baby be born and let the doctors properly take care of the issue rather than chance withdraw and complications while trying to carry?!.

It depends on what it is. I was on tramadol long term before I found out I was pregnant, which I had to stop immediately. Then I was prescribed vicodin for something else around 9ish weeks which everyone agreed was fine, I never took it because I didn't want to chance it, but I was told it's fine. It all depends on what it is, what your OB says, and your personal opinions on it.

The dentist prescribed me Vicodin while pregnant, I guess it's safe of taken correctly. I'd check with your ob just to be sure.
