How do you count your dpo???

Question

I've been counting mine since the LH surge and heavy ewcm (sometimes with spotting).

Is that accurate??? Also if we have sex two days prior to this, my chances are still good?

Been ttc for over a year now and I'm wondering if I'm getting something wrong with my timing.

I count mine after my temperature rise. Which is always accurate & spot on. When I did OPKs, it was always wrong. But with an OPK, 1 DPO is 2 days after your LH surge.

On an LH surge you'll ovulate around 12-24ish hours later. For me I got a massive positive test and then the next morning my temp dropped to confirm ovulation. You should BD the day of the surge and the next one or two days after just in case to make sure you catch the egg. Sperm can survive up to five days though so you should be fine and they say having sperm already waiting to meet the egg is really good too.
