When are you having your baby shower?

Some people are super weird about not giving me gifts before baby is born. I admit it sort of stresses me out as I've already had lots of stress with this pregnancy and doctors being pessimistic about how things would turn out... I don't feel like I need the help of people who are (superstitious? paranoid?). I want an early shower to avoid the problem of buying everything myself and then having to entertain people shortly after pushing a baby out of an area it doesn't fit! Thoughts?
