Traveling while pregnant (long backstory)

My husband and I live about 4 1/2 hours (it's usually more like 6 bc we have to stop so much for me to pee) away from both of our families. Both sides want to throw us showers but they want to have them where they are and not where we live. I know getting out of the car is good for circulation and honestly, I'm not too concerned bc we stop to pee so much but am I missing another reason why traveling may not be good? Hopefully they won't want us to travel in the 9th month bc I'll just have to tell them no but what do you all think? More than likely it'll be the 7th or 8th month.
