C-Section vs. Vaginal Birth

Am I the only one that is a little concerned that some women request a C-Section because they fear tearing or other vaginal birth mishaps. Do they not realize that it's not the "easy way out"? That our bodies were designed to give birth through the vagina?  I feel like our society has a weird stigma that giving birth vaginallg will wreck your vagina and make you somehow undesirable so better to opt for major surgery - C-Section. Of course if it's necessary for medical reasons and whatnot then bless your heart.
