Copper iud issues

So 3 months ago I had my copper iud removed so that I could start ttc. Well AF was completely out of whack with going as far as 42 without starting, but the last 2 months my AF seems to have gone back to normal. My concern is, I was told that because this is a non hormonal iud I would go back to normal asap... not the case with me. Anyone else have this issues? And if so how long did it take to conceive?
