I guess I waited too long to take my rings out. I don't want them to close up, but will putting a ring in for a minute every few days make the color worse? And will the skin stay this dark forever after pregnancy or will it fade like a stretch mark?

It looks like scarring.. My ring has been out for awhile now, and I can't see where the hole used to be, before though, it was so purple it looked bruised almost. I wouldn't keep putting them back in, because eventually your belly button will poke out, and that could potentially rip the skin around the ring, or do something along those lines.. You can always re-pierce though!

There are belly button rings specifically for pregnancy.

Its probably just because it's a piercing. I have a stitch in my belly button from surgery 10 years ago and it turned pretty dark during pregnancy. Still the same 2 months pp

I got a stretch mark on my top belly piercing and its faded a lot but the skin looks really gross and wrinkly now...the bottom one isn't as bad

I took my belly ring out 2 years ago. Mine looks that color now that my belly has stretched too. I don't think it's a matter of when you took it out. Don't worry love, I bet it will go back to normal.
