Anyone getting lower abdominal pain in 2nd trimester??

I'm 17weeks and for the past few days Ive been feeling lots of pressure in lower abdomen. I also have a very sharp pain on my left side that will shoot to my back sometimes. That pain just started last night.  My prego friends tell me it round ligament pain, something's doesn't seem right. It doesn't seem to go away with rest or anything. I called my doc, just waiting for them to call me back. Is anyone else experiencing this?
