Low blood sugar... Does anyone know if it can harm the baby?

Question

This is our first baby. I had a low blood sugar of 47 tonight when I came home from work. My husband and I know that I can handle it (I have been lower before and still coherent) but we are not sure how the baby will handle it or if it can harm the baby. 
Has anyone else experienced a low blood sugar like this and if so, what did your doctor say? Can/does it harm the baby?

I have hypoglycemia and so low blood sugar is something I have had to manage for many years.  I was told by my dr not to let it get too low and to eat protein (to stabilize it) and some carbs/sugar (to raise it quickly) when I feel it going down.  Just try to maintain as much as you can and as soon as you feel it dropping eat something with carbs/sugar and after follow it up with protein. I usually do a piece of candy or fruit cup and milk or peanut butter sandwich
