Am I horrible if I return a gift?

My SO cousin randomly came to our house with a really big box we opened it and it's a stroller! It's the baby trend jogger. I didn't want a jogger since they are so big, & I wanted something smaller since I'm really small too. I wanted the chicco urban stroller. Would I be mean if I returned it? Please help.

Let her know before you do anything, because that is a really really sweet gift. Just tell her your issues with it and you appreciate it so much that she thought to buy you such a necessity. Then tell her what you originally were going to get, and ask her if she would mind if you did get it and return the one she got you in exchange for it.

I returned lots of gifts and diapers. Seems like all I got was 1s. Need another size and clothes. I literally didn't have any clothes or anything for my son. So I took back hundreds of dollars of diapers and got what I needed. I still have a closet full of diapers and wipes. If anyone gets offended by you getting what you want, explain that you really appreciate the gift however you had one in mind that better suited your needs.

I took back a bunch of stuff from my shower! It seems people didn't use the registry correctly or it didn't update quick enough so I got 3 bathtubs and 4 play mats and had to take the extras back for store credit lol. But I also got Johnson & Johnson bath products and Pampers Swaddlers that I returned because I want to use Aveeno and Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive. I've also returned some clothing I didn't like and other things I didn't like or need. Don't feel guilty if you prefer something else than you're given! Just make sure to express your gratitude for the original gift!

Don't feel bad. My son is 2 now and I still return gifts people get us because he/I/hubby doesn't want or like it. And with this new baby (girl) I'll do the same. If it's not practical for you, you don't need it.

Nah girl return it if you want to! I did the same thing for babyshower gifts. Had to exchange over 100$ worth of diapers and a few extra gifts also including a 150$ bedding set that I had the cheaper version of.

Since as someone mentioned you might need get back the full amount she paid for it if you return without a reciept....can you talk with her and tell her how much you appreciate it but that it is a little bigger in style than you had planned on getting and would prefer to exchange it for something smaller.....maybe she'll give you a receipt then and you can get what you want.
