How long should we wait??

My SO and I are getting our own place in 6 months. I was wondering how long we should wait before we start buying things for a place and saving up the money for a place? I know everyone is gonna have their opinions, but I'm looking for adivce. I'm 18 and VERY nervous.

Save NOW!! Buy things a week to two before moving in

Start trying to look for good deals on things you may need and start saving money now! I've lived on my own and with my now boyfriend and really you can never have enough money saved in order to be prepared. You'll most likely need first months rent and security deposit to even move in plus cable set up/electricity hook up/gas hookup fees if you have gas heat. Plus your first grocery trip is always a large amount! Best of luck and remember to enjoy it too!

Start saving now, but do not buy anything until you know where and when you are moving. Pretty much, wait until you know the exact time and house you're moving into.
