Getting priorities mixed up....?

So my husband is hell bent on getting another gun with our taxes. But I told him that I don't want to see another gun until we are living in our own place. But he said he will be getting one anyway. Well I have made the decision that if he buys a gun instead of looking into a place to live then I will be taking our kids and moving into a family members house till I can get us a place to live. Am I being too hard? Or do you think it's something that would help make him see guns aren't a #1 priority...?

Is this really about the guns or is there a larger issue?  Why do you both disagree on your current living situation?  Are you to the point of leaving your husband or are you just making a statement by moving your family to another home?

I think that's a little too hard. I understand wanting a different living situation, and being hurt by him wanting to spend money on a gun. My husband wanted to do the same thing, but we needed a mattress more. Is where your living unlivable? Or can you hold out a little longer? If you are filling jointly figure out how much is your portion and split it, that way he knows how much he can blow and you do what you want with yours. Because its nit just his. Did you try to talk to him rationally or just say you're not getting a gun? If I tell my husband he's not going to do something, he'll usually do it anyway. Try to actually talk it through.
