Am I wrong?

So a friend of mine sons father was killed a couple days ago. And so I made a status on Facebook basically saying how too many teens are getting killed and how these kids need to put the guns down. Then I ended by saying R.I.P. to the young man that was killed. Well my husband got really mad and asked me if I knew him I assured him I don't. I know his sons mother though. Well he was mad saying I shouldn't be saying that about another man I thought that was ridiculous. It ended up turning into a big argument...
