Cervix length fluctuating

I'm 26+3 with twins. Today, my cervix length was fluctuating from 2.75 to 1.4. I have to be seen weekly for it now. The doctor had a certain name for it but I cannot remember what he said!! Does anybody know what I'm talking about? And have any of you been through this?
