Glucose test?

What do they do during the glucose test? How does it work? I am going in for mine soon and I am nervous. Any tips?

They give you a glucose drink, you drink it, wait an hour, then they draw your blood and your done.

When I took mine, the drink tasted like flat Sunkist. Super sweet orange water.

I failed my one hour test but past my three hour, so if you fail the first time don't freak out. How it worked at my office was, I came in and they had me drink a bottle of really sugary liquid, then I waited for an hour to pass. (I had an ultrasound during that hour). After the hour was up they took blood from my arm and sent it off. Some tips I would give is ask for a straw! It was a lot easier to drink with a straw. Oh and don't throw up! If you do you have to start all over. Good luck.

I took mine last Thursday. They have me this clear drink it was orange flavored but not that good...it had a flat pop taste at first sip but when I tried to chug it it had a medicine/ cough syrup taste so I drank it little by little. You get five minutes. Then I had to sit in the waiting room for an hour )they also will make you a bed to lie down in if you want) for me time went by really fast. She drew my blood an filled up two tubes and sent it off to the lab. I called my doctor for results today but she hasn't reviewed it yet so I'm waiting on a callback. With the 3 hr test you get your results right away, they prick your finger and tell you if you pass or fail

I did the two hour test so they took my blood, gave me the drink to drink than I had to wait an hour than take more blood and repeat agian the hour after. Most people just have to take the drink and wait an hour to get their blood taken.
