Military Spouses Help

I am 19 and have been with my boyfriend for over 2 years. We plan on getting married after he finishes technical school with the Air Force. His whole family is very supportive whereas mine are not. My parents say we are "relying on the government to take care of us and we need to rely on ourselves". I don't see anything wrong with this because the government is his employer. We aren't asking for free money because we don't want to work. I want to move in with him after we are married, get a job, and obtain my RN. Being a Christian, I can not express how much it hurts that my parents do not support this. (For relying on the government and our ages). Also, I still live with them. They are afraid the government will shut down again and we will have to move back home.  So it's too risky. But the same would apply to any job with lay offs and being fired. Has anyone had experience with this? Was military pay enough to support you and your spouse (adding an extra job)?
